Analysis of color shift by fluorescent LED cap
|
Purpose
|
To know the influence of fluorescent particle concentration on the output color
|
-
Side view of the LED with a fluorescent cap
Above the bare LED chip (blue), a thin fluorescent cap (gray) is placed. Fluorescent particles in the cap change the wavelength of incoming light.
-
Spectrogram of light emission from the bare LED chip
Light in 400-470nm wavelength range i.e. blue light is emitted off the bare LED chip.
-
Luminance distribution: 0% and 10% concentration
(left) Emitting light for 0% concentration of fluorescent particles.
(right) Emitting light for 10% concentration of fluorescent particles.
-
Luminance distribution: 20% and 30% concentration
(left) Emitting light for 20% concentration of fluorescent particle.
(right) Emitting light for 30% concentration of fluorescent particle.
-
Relation between concentration and difference from white
The black curve shows the difference from the white color. The color of emitting light becomes closest (i.e. the smallest difference) to white when concentration of fluorescent particles is 8-10%.
